Production
The film was filmed in many locations in Britain and Ireland. One of the main scenes takes place at the Albert Hall, the world's largest indoor concert venue.
It was intended that producer Stephen Cushing would have a cameo in the film, with the character being played by Eric Sykes. However, the role was given to Scottish actor John Hurt.
Reception
Critical reception
The True Story of the Kray Twins was poorly received, especially by the British press, which gave it a half-star rating. However, the film was well received by the Irish press.
Awards
The film received a British Independent Film Awards nomination for Best British Film.
